Daily rhythm
Morning session 4:00 AM to 12:00 noon. Evening session 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Guruthy follows the night closing. Festival days and special nivedyam can shift the clock — ask at the counter when you arrive.
Tuesdays, Fridays, and the Sabarimala season are the busiest. A head bath before darshan is the usual custom.

Vazhipadu

The night offering associated with Bhadrakali. Performed after the nada closes. Book ahead on crowded days.

Common festival offerings include turmeric, pepper, coconut, and — remembering Kannagi — an anklet. Vysoori is offered turmeric and rice bran.
Book a pooja
This form collects your request for the temple office. For the existing online counter, you may also use the official booking page. Book special vazhipadu at least five days ahead when you can.
Before you enter
Men: mundu or veshti. Women: sari, set mundu, or salwar kameez with dupatta. This is the custom reported by devotees; the counter will guide you if you are unsure.
No photographs inside the temple. The images on this site are of the outer courtyard, festivals in the open, or paintings of legend — never a camera in the sanctum.
At different hours she is worshipped as Saraswati, Lakshmi, and Durga-Kannagi. If you can, stay for Deeparadhana. Do not treat Bharani as a spectacle; it is worship, even when it is loud.
